At United Communications, we take pride in being more than just a provider of communication services—we’re a part of the communities we serve. Today, we’re thrilled to share some wonderful news!
The Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC), of which United Communications is a proud member, has granted $1,500 to the Gorge Arts and Heritage Council in Walhalla, North Dakota.
Since 1984, the Gorge Arts and Heritage Council has dedicated itself to preserving the cultural heritage of our region through arts, history, and education. From captivating art exhibits to immersive historical tours, their contributions enrich our community in countless ways.
This grant will fund the much-anticipated upgrade to the sound system at Walhalla’s Walla Theatre. This historic venue has long been a gathering place for residents to experience movies, live performances, and community events. With this upgrade, attendees can look forward to crystal-clear sound that enhances every experience.
We celebrate the positive impact of the Gorge Arts and Heritage Council and are proud to support initiatives that enhance the cultural life of our community.

RDFC supports nonprofit organizations and community projects that foster economic vitality and cultural enrichment. Communities eligible to apply for grants of up to $3,000 for community-based projects are encouraged to participate in these opportunities. Additionally, the RDFC is making these funds readily available to expand awareness of their larger loan program, which provides low-interest loans to fund community-based projects and nonprofit entities. This initiative highlights the RDFC and its members’ commitment to strengthening local communities, promoting shared heritage, and empowering organizations to make a lasting impact.
